About Ashley.

Ashley Lun was born in Singapore and has spent the majority of her life growing up in the Bay Area. She is a single mother to a beautiful 5 year old girl, and has been pursuing an active lifestyle for more than half her life!

Growing up, Ashley was put into multiple types of dance classes, participated in sports like volleyball and soccer, and ultimately pursued rhythmic gymnastics from the age of 6 until her teenage years. Appreciative of the discipline learned from such a tough sport, she carries that with her in every class. Ashley studied dance at the Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts. Her time there was a mental and physical challenge that will keep her modest for the rest of her life. While in school, Ashley started her coaching career as a dance and gymnastics coach to little ones aged 3-12. She quickly worked up to becoming the lead instructor, balancing school, dance, and work through her teenage years.

Bringing Sienna Luna into the world has been the greatest highlight of Ashley’s life. It catapulted Ashley into the adult world with all the struggles that come with raising a baby and continuing to work. Finding time to keep herself sane, she found solace in a neighborhood HIIT gym and prioritized time to move again. Her goals for her fitness journey were different than before. It wasn’t about getting a 6-pack or being the best in the room anymore. The time Ashley spent working out was always to FEEL better. She wanted to feel stronger, fight for a healthier mindset, and in return her body became stronger than it was before she had a child. With new-found strength and the confidence that came with it, Ashley created Aluna Fitness.

From Ashley:

Let’s work out for ourselves instead. Let’s finish class with a healthier mindset. Let’s put a pause on worrying about how much we’re lifting or how many reps we should be able to do and just have a good time. Working out is my form of therapy the same way sports and dance were growing up. My goal is to take my experiences of learning from studios, classrooms, and gyms, to help me be a better coach. Let’s be better versions of ourselves- stronger, together.
